Registering as an EU Citizen in Cyprus (Yellow Slip, MEU1)
EU nationals and their families must register after arrival; here are the conditions, documents and the process for the registration certificate.
Choose your category of residence
Registration depends on whether you work, are self-employed, study, or are economically self-sufficient. Each category has its own evidence of employment, income or insurance.
Book and attend the registration appointment
Register within the period set after arrival (commonly four months). Submit the MEU1 form with the supporting documents and photos at the competent migration office.
Register family members
Spouses, children and some dependants of EU citizens can obtain residence documents. Non-EU family members need proof of the relationship, legalised and translated where required.
FAQ
What happens if I miss the registration deadline?
A late registration can attract an administrative fine and delays. Register as soon as you notice, and ask an advocate if your status has other complications.
